The first Švejk Restaurant in the Ore Mountains (Czech Krušné hory) is in a village called Bublava, on the very border with Germany.
The Švejk Restaurant is situated in an approximately 100 years old building originally built by the Germans as a local cinema.
It was symbolically open exactly 89 years after Jaroslav Hašek (the author of The Good Soldier Švejk and His Fortunes in the World War) joined the 91st Infantry of the Imperial and Royal Army, and offers everything that the good soldier Švejk symbolises. This means not only that “
good food and good drink is the basis of all living“, but also peace, quiet and well-being multiplied by the atmosphere of “
the old good Austria-Hungary“ including contemporary costumes of the staff.
Let yourselves be fascinated by the environment and atmosphere, both by visiting our website or even better by visiting our restaurant and you will be convinced of the qualities of the old Czech cuisine. All food is prepared according to original recipes; just the way the good soldier Josef Švejk once loved it.
